  1. If you as the end-user install an application downloaded from internet,
  2. you give the developers trust in advance.
  3. A healthy amount of distrust is always good..

  5. Freeware should mean Freeware,without any catch.
  6. But Today, freeware is an abused term.

  8. Many programmers use it to get their applications listed and to gain more downloads,while their programs are actually ad-sponsored.
  9. Many of them use one of the professional advertising systems,i.e. Aureate.

  11. OUR DEMAND IS:
  12. The popular Shareware\freeware pages should add an extra-categorie for Ad-sponsored programs.

  16. Q:How do i know if a particular application installs a spyware?

  18. A:The publisher must inform you as the end-user about his application beeing ad-sponsored,
  19.   but common rule is that they dont. 
  20.   you'll find an frequently updated list of known spyware on our page.

  26. Q:I've downloaded a tool that appears to be spyware, but its not on your list 
  27.   and Ad-aware finds no suspicious references.

  32. Q:Why dont you just modify the libraries,without removing them.so that the Tool might still work?

  34. A:this would mean to reverse engineer the libraries, which is a violation of the license terms.

  39. Q:Now what.ADaware found Aureate on my system, and after removing it,Go!zilla is   not working anymore.
  40.   if i had knewn before,i would leave it the way it was!!

  42. A:Just reinstall Go!zilla(+aureate) :)
  43.   but in my experience, there is always an alternative to any ad-sponsored   application. (we will put an list of "alternatives" on our page soon)
